9/24/14: New Hatch Act Informational Packet released by OSC. Pamphlet may be distributed to employees as a quick reference guide. Additional information regarding the Hatch Act may be found on the political activities page.
8/27/14: Updated Form HHS-717-1. The Confidential Report of Financial Interests in Substantially Affected Organizations for Employees of the National Institutes of Health (HHS-717-1) has been updated to allow the use of digital signatures. It is available on the Ethics Forms page.
10/6/14: New ethics program website page added for Professional Organizations.

8/26/14: The National Government Ethics Summit will consist of a series of events held in the Washington, D.C. area, throughout the month of September. A detailed summit guide of all events may be downloaded here.
7/10/14: The next DEC/EC Quarterly Meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 1-4pm in building 1 (Wilson Hall).

3/10/14: OGE issues Legal Advisory LA-14-02 (3/07/14) Participation in Initial Public Offerings by Certain Employees. This Legal Advisory addresses specific statutory limits on when certain employees may purchase securities that are the subject of an Initial Public Offering. (OGE web site)

12/20/13: The U.S. Office of Government Ethics has issued the 2014 Schedule of Important Ethics Dates. This document contains a month-by-month listing of deadlines and reminders for agency ethics officials for the upcoming calendar year. 12/02/13: The 2013 Annual Ethics Training is now available. Required for all Federal employees, including those who completed the 2013 New Employee Ethics Orientation. Additional training may be found on the training page.
8/09/13: The DEC Workshop will be held on September 24th at the Lister Hill Auditorium on the NIH Campus. All DECs and ECs are expected to attend. Additional details will be available soon.
7/29/13: Electronic signatures have been allowed for the OGE Form 278-T. The most recent form (January 2013) with PIV card signature capabilities is available on the STOCK Act information page. (OGE Form 278-T: Fillable Acrobat .pdf format)
5/13/13: The Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE Form 278) is due Wednesday May 15th, 2013. For employee resources, FAQ's, tips on filing and resources for ethics officials visit the OGE-278 Topic page.
**If you require additional time for your filing, please log into NEES (https://nees.nih.gov/) to request an extension. Request for an extension must be submitted no later than 30 days after the original filing due date of May 15, 2013.

8/29/12: The 2012 Above and Beyond Award was presented to Maria Hessman, Clinical Center Ethics Assistant, at the 2012 Above and Beyond Ethics Administrative and Support Retreat. The theme of this year's retreat was Motivate, Communicate, and Facilitate.
8/29/12: The Above and Beyond Ethics Administrative and Support Retreat, entitled Motivate, Communicate, and Facilitate, will be held on main campus. The retreat is open to all administrative and support staff in the ethics offices at the NIH. Registration deadline is Friday, August 17th. See the registration form (pdf) for additional information. 11/8/11: 2011 Annual Ethics Training: Government Ethics and Social Media is required for all NIH regular Government employees. Progress and completion will be tracked. In addition, you may save or print the certificate of completion at the end.
Non-employees (e.g., visiting staff, guest staff, contractors, other non-employees). If you are instructed to complete 2011 Annual Ethics Training, please choose this link. You will review the same material however your progress and complete will not be tracked.

NINDS Receives Ethics Program Excellence and Innovation Award: The NINDS Ethics Office received the 2011 Program Excellence and Innovation Award at the 18th National Government Ethics Conference, sponsored by the Office of Government Ethics (OGE). NCCAM's Robin Klevins receives the 2011 Ethics Awareness Poster Award from the Office of Government Ethics. The purpose of the poster contest is to showcase the creativity of individuals in raising employee awareness, and to foster the sharing of effective awareness-raising ideas across the ethics community. The award-winning posters will be made available for use by all agencies throughout the executive branch. Congratulations to Robyn and NCCAM! (Removed 1/2/12)
