Completing Work From Prior Employment
Frequently, new employees wish to complete work which was started at their prior place of employment. The employee and supervisor, in consultation with the IC's Deputy Ethics Counselor as needed, will determine whether it is more appropriate to finish the work as official duty or personal (outside) activity. The decision will be documented in the ethics agreement for the new employee. Any remaining publications must use the following disclaimer to prevent inappropriate use of NIH title and affiliation. Employees will ensure that publications resulting from prior employment will include this information.
